NATIONAL COUNCIL OF TERTIARY MUSIC SCHOOLS (NACTMUS)
NACTMUS DATABASE OF EXAMINERS
You are invited to participate in a NACTMUS project to facilitate the process of securing appropriately qualified external examiners for the examination of postgraduate and honours music degrees. There is an assumption that participation in the database project involves no obligation to agree to be an examiner if contacted. The database will only be accessible to NACTMUS-member institutions.
To register as an examiner you should provide the following information:
Title:
First Name:
Surname:
Name of institution where employed:
Contact details (institutional postal address, telephone and email):
Academic qualifications (including institution and year awarded for each award):
Topic areas/Level of degree for each topic area
Submission formats (e.g thesis, folio, live performance etc)
Guidelines:
Generally it is expected that the examiners for a particular level/type of degree would possess that level/type of degree themselves, particularly with regard to level (Honours, Masters, Doctorate). Some higher education institutions, however, may have a policy that allows the appointment of an examiner at a higher level on the basis of his or her professional track record as a performer, composer, researcher etc. It is advisable to be as specific as possible about the topics, the levels at which you believe you are qualified and prepared to examine, and the formats you are prepared to accept. Please analyse the existing database records to get a feel for the type of information that is required. We are looking for participants across the full range of disciplines (and of genres) in Australian tertiary music schools: performance, composition, musicology, music theory, ethnomusicology, music technology, music production, new media, music education, music therapy, music business, etc.
To participate please submit details to:
